Look-a-like

For this video montage assignment, I decided to create a short horror montage/ film. The process began with brainstorming and conceptualizing the story and the eerie atmosphere I wanted to evoke. I shot the entire video over three days, using only my Samsung phone and a tripod, which presented its own set of challenges in terms of stability and visual quality. I had to get creative with camera angles and lighting to make up for the limitations of the equipment and still create a sense of unease and tension.

One of the main challenges was building an atmosphere of suspense and fear despite working with limited resources. I experimented with different lighting setups, often using shadows and low light to add depth and an unsettling mood. I also focused on precise camera movements to capture the tension, but there were moments when it was difficult to maintain the desired quality with my phone’s camera. The editing process in Premiere Pro allowed me to refine the footage, adding a carefully selected score and additional sound bites to enhance the atmosphere. The challenge here was ensuring that the sound and visuals worked together to amplify the creepy vibe I was aiming for without overwhelming the viewer. Balancing these elements to create a cohesive and effective horror experience was a learning curve but ultimately, I was able to produce a montage that captured the eerie and suspenseful tone I envisioned.
