For my public awareness campaign project, I chose to address the topic of mental health. I conducted thorough research on my selected topic to gather the most important information and data, as well as visual references from previous campaigns and ads related to the issue. Based on my findings, I created an original concept that communicated an original message with the image of a storm affecting people’s minds, hearts, and well-being. The campaign also featured the tagline “The storm won’t last forever” to enhance its impact.
Additionally, I incorporated statistics about depression among adults in Canada to anchor the ad and encourage the audience to take action. The campaign also included the logo and website of the Canadian Mental Health Association, a relevant organization that supports the cause and provides further resources for individuals seeking help or more information.
One thing I found particularly challenging was creating a vector image of an anatomical heart and brain.
The solution to use the image trace tool in illustrator, a tool which allows pixel based images to be transformed
into vectors images, which can then be manipulated accordingly.
